Blog #10 The Final Send Off.

Image
Hello everyone this will be my final blog although my time has been short on this site I have had a blast speaking my mind so thank you to everyone who has viewed and or commented on my content! This has been a great way for me to stretch my writing muscles so I figured we should end this how it started.     Today I will be talking about a game called Subnautica. Subnautica is a survival game that takes place on an ocean world after your colony ship crashed after an unknown incident. You play the role of a silent protagonist named Riley who barely makes it out alive after escaping into an escape pod from your colony ship the Aurora. As you exit your life pod you are presented with an endless ocean and the looming wreckage of your former home away from home. I do not want to spoil the game and the experience so From here on out I will be talking about my experience and feelings playing this game.  To start off I had Thalassophobia which is a type of sp...

Blog #9 Empty Calories

Hello Everyone welcome back to some more Blissful Ignorance. Today I want to talk about healthy food and fast food, and how the direction of  the food industry it having an impact on what we eat. In society today the most common excuse for people to not eat healthy is that it is an expensive lifestyle most people cannot afford.  The cost of healthy eating  is an article about the cost of healthy eating, as well as the cost of fast food. To paraphrase unhealthy choices tend to be $1.50 cheaper per day than healthy food. Not only is it cheaper but it is also more convenient for people, which is what tends to be the driving force in peoples decision making. Unhealthy food also tastes very good (not always the case) and satisfy peoples salty, and sugary cravings. In reality you are set up to fail against a system like this where healthy food is more expensive then fast food.      However, there is hope so do not feel as though all is l...

Synthwave: a Missed opportunity? or a necessary stepping stone. Blog #8

Image
Hello everyone welcome back to another rant with yours truly! Today I would like to talk about an extraordinary type of music call synthwave. Synthwave is an electronic music microgenre that is based predominantly on the music associated with action, science-fiction, and horror film soundtracks of the 1980s. This genre of music was introduced to me from my dad, and a few friends back when I was in high-school. Even to this day this genre still thrives hidden beneath the new top hits of today, but the beauty really lies within how the music can reach out to you. I know I am not alone in the fact that music has the ability to touch the soul in ways nothing else can. Its almost like I really feel the music echoing through me, breaking through my defenses, and I wont lie it gets me emotional sometimes whether its sad, happy, or though provoking. I want to focus on one song in particular that has really tickled my fancy as of late by an artist who goes by the ...

Blog #7 What is Fresh really?

Image
I had the pleasure of watching a documentary called "Fresh" which focused on agriculture within the united states. The documentary uses multiple perspectives from the different farmers suppling food to their local communities, as well as the challenges they faced with corporations, pesticides, etc. In all honesty I have never really thought about the food I eat and where it comes from. It is crazy to think that something we do so often in our lives, and is so essential to our survival becomes an after thought due to how easily available everything is to us. This film really poked at my emotions of frustration, anger, sadness, and joy from different environments whether it was the chicken coops packed to the brim with chickens, to the harmony that can be found in nature between livestock and crops. It takes you on an emotional joyride while showing you the reality of how we get our food.           Honestly, this ...
