Hello Everyone welcome back to some more Blissful Ignorance. Today I want to talk about healthy food and fast food, and how the direction of the food industry it having an impact on what we eat. In society today the most common excuse for people to not eat healthy is that it is an expensive lifestyle most people cannot afford. The cost of healthy eating is an article about the cost of healthy eating, as well as the cost of fast food. To paraphrase unhealthy choices tend to be $1.50 cheaper per day than healthy food. Not only is it cheaper but it is also more convenient for people, which is what tends to be the driving force in peoples decision making. Unhealthy food also tastes very good (not always the case) and satisfy peoples salty, and sugary cravings. In reality you are set up to fail against a system like this where healthy food is more expensive then fast food. However, there is hope so do not feel as though all is lost. You dont have to eat healthy every single day but you most definitely cannot eat poorly every day, you need a variety of fruits and veggies, whole grains, dairy, protein, and oils in your daily diet to stay alive. simple things like planning out meals for the week, or buying in bulk, or just cutting up your own fruits and vegetables can make a difference. In a world where we are incentivized by ads on television or on the internet to eat fast food you have to very careful and do research on your own. Only we can make real change for ourselves and we can no longer rely on others around us to do it for us. Now is the time to step up and make a stand!
This has been Blissful Ignorance have a goodnight yall!
